Commercial Traffic Defense

As an attorney, I have represented commercial Driver’s and trucking companies in the courts in California since 1993 providing commercial traffic defense

Issues include legal defense of commercial and non-commercial vehicle code violations for both infractions and misdemeanors. My representation has resulted in dismissals, reduced violations that may or may not appear on the DMV record, not guilty decisions and guilty outcomes.

I also represent commercial drivers, both residents and non-residents, before the California Dept. of Motor Vehicles for negligent driver and medical suspension matters.

I also have successfully helped commercial drivers to correct CSA data via the Data Q process with FMCSA, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

From 1999-2015, I was a co-owner of Right Lane Consulting, a resource for training and compliance to trucking companies in California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Utah, Idaho, and Arizona. Our clients included a moderately sized haz-mat company in the SF Bay Area, a billion dollar trucking company with several thousand Driver’s and the City of Ryad in Saudi Arabia. In 2012 my co-owners and I developed a 16hr. training program that was introduced In the California Legislature as AB 1888. This bill was designed to keep points off DMV records for commercial vehicle code violations. The bill was modified and became a law effective in 2013 to allow truckers to do traffic school if the violation is in a non-commercial vehicle to keep the points off their DMV record.

Currently as an attorney and for more than 20 years, I have defended commercial drivers and trucking companies for vehicle code violations such as speeding, lane, logbook and permit violations in courts throughout Northern California. For individual commercial drivers I have represented them in DMV hearings to avoid suspensions. I have also represented drivers in medical cases before the DMV involving conditions such as diabetes, epilepsy and sleep apnea.

Mediation should be the first choice of disputant parties in all matters to contain costs even if they have retained attorneys
